Ana & Juan’s luxury destination wedding was the crown jewel of their extravagant multi-day wedding celebration in Antigua, Guatemala. They got ready and had their reception in the exquisitely designed Villa Bokeh, just outside the center of town. After spending nearly a decade together, these two had no signs of nerves or anxiety before the big moment. They smiled and laughed with their closest friends and family as they got ready in Villa Bokeh’s master suites, which overlook the sprawling gardens of this exclusive wedding venue.
After an emotional first look with her dad, Ana made her way through the front patio of the hotel, where she and Juan saw each other for the first time. She took his breath away in her striking Galia Lahav dress, and he stunned her in his dark green suit and black tie. We took a short walk with them around the villa grounds to get a few photos of the two of them. They were looking for a relaxed and editorial style for photos, so Villa Bokeh’s gardens were the perfect backdrop for their elevated wedding photos.
As their wedding hour got closer, they stole one last snuggle before heading towards the ruins separately. Ana and her father shared the ride over in a light blue classic car, which matched the wedding decor and hotel perfectly.
With almost 200 guests in attendance, the temple of Santa Clara buzzed with energy and enthusiasm before the ceremony started. Santa Clara is one of the most popular wedding venues in Antigua Guatemala, and Ana & Juan’s guests did not miss the opportunity to explore this historical setting.
As Ana finally made her way towards the altar, the air quite literally left the room as this emotional and laughter-filled ceremony started. The couple shared their tearful vows and exchanged rings. The crowd went wild as they shared their first kiss and headed back down the aisle as husband and wife.
One of the highlights of this extraordinary wedding was the party. This was the first time we had ever seen a bride or groom absolute full control of the party. Their reception included a batucada drum set, glowing angel wings for the bride, and of course a celebratory nod to their countries of origin, Venezuela & Colombia. They didn’t leave the dancefloor for a second of the reception. Then, as the icing on the cake, we picked our jaws up off the floor as Juan calmly stepped up to the DJ booth, ready to spin a 30-minute set at his own wedding after party. Of course, their guests totally lost their minds as the party continued on into the wee hours of the morning.
You can find the brilliant list of vendors for this wedding below. This wedding could not have been more perfect, and we have this amazing team to thank for providing such an exceptional experience to the bride and groom. Congratulations of course to Ana & Juan for being such genuine and lovely people to meet and photograph.
