Engagement Photos in Antigua Guatemala // Days after their engagement, Kade and Tejana gave us a phone call to see if we were available to take their engagement photos in Antigua Guatemala. We had a busy week, but jumped on the opportunity to shoot in their hotel room at Panza Verde, one of our favorite boutique hotels in Antigua. Hours before their photoshoot, we received a separate email from Kade, who was planning a surprise for Tejana during the shoot. It was Tejana’s birthday and Kade wanted to surprise her with one of her favorite things, a live mariachi band. As we slowly made our way from their room to the roof of the hotel, we exchanged glances with Kade, trying to communicate a plan to make sure we could catch the special moment. The mariachi band made their way up the stairs playing the famous “Cielito Lindo” and a surprised Tejana laughed and started dancing with Kade as soon as she realized what was happening. engagement photos in Antigua Guatemala
As if that wasn’t amazing enough, we then took a long walk around Antigua, including inside the ruins of Santa Clara, one of our favorite places to shoot. The previous days’ events made these photos particularly easy for us, Kade & Tejana were beaming with excitement from both Tejana’s birthday and their new engagement. Before we finished shooting, the idea of ice cream at Doña Gavi’s sounded like the perfect way to end the day and it was! We had such an awesome afternoon with these lovebirds. We are so happy that they are getting married on Lake Atitlan in November and we are so honored to be able to capture it! If their wedding day is even half as amazing as their engagement, we are in for a marvelous celebration.
Sidenote: We’ve had a few people reach out to us regarding Tejana’s outfits during this shoot, so we figured we would just link them into this post. Her first two-piece outfit is by our amazing friend from Stela 9, which is right here in Antigua, Guatemala. The last three dresses are from the Spell & Gypsy Collective, out of Australia.
