One thing we have learned while shooting weddings is that you can learn a lot about someone within just a few days, if not hours. You hear stories of them from their friends and family’s speeches, you have a glimpse into future marriage as they exchange precious vows to each other and you observe how they handle tense, emotional, fleeting moments surrounded by the people they love most.
Shreya & Will both live in New York, but pulled together a multi-cultural celebration of Shreya’s Indian heritage and Will’s Puerto Rican background with this Indian Wedding Antigua Guatemala. Shreya’s traditional Hindu bridal entrance to the ceremony took place at Casa De La Ruina and after a post-ceremony Mariachi parade, everyone headed to a sunset cocktail hour. Will surprised Shreya with a Bollywood flash dance and they enjoyed a coconut and beer on the cobblestone streets of Antigua before heading to their wedding reception at Pensativo House Hotel. It was a beautiful mix of traditions, culture and love.
Throughout the wedding speeches, we learned about both their family dynamics, and all the dizzying paths it took for the two of them to cross paths in NYC. We also learned that they had almost a year-long debate about the actual place where they met. It’s incredible how much you can learn about someone on their wedding day and how fast you can become immediate-besties just by being there. We are so happy to have photographed this wedding day, as well as for the space and time to create some images for these two lovely human beings. Cheers to this incredible couple!
